Okay, so this cookie almost went immediately into the trash after the first stencil. A detailed stencil and black icing are a very frustrating combination. The cookie was just uninteresting; the black food color bled into the pink. Lots of variables to consider when stenciling a cookie that I’ll cover in another post. I can fix this! I piped on some decorative scroll work (photo 1). Getting better. I brushed on some Pearl Dust and then sprinkled with a tiny bit of pink Disco Dust (edible glitter) (photo 2). Much better … glad I didn’t abandon the Eiffel Tower cookie idea. I placed the cookie into a high quality cellophane bag and tied with pretty ribbon and, Voila! Not perfect, but not bad! Sometimes cookie decorating is like looking at a house in need of repair. You’ve got to look beyond the ugly and imagine the potential and just push forward until you get something that you like. It may not always be perfect which is hard for us Type A personalities! Since I only had one extra cookie with which to practice on, this is as good as it will get today. Cindy
