Buttermilk Pie

A simple, wholesome, sweet and tangy custard-like filling with a slight hint of vanilla
Ingredients
  • 1¼ cups granulate sugar
  • 3 level tablespoons flour
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of buttermilk (do not use low fat)
  • One 9" pie crust
Instructions
  1. Mix sugar and flour in a mixing bowl and stir with a whisk or wooden spoon. Add melted butter and stir. Add eggs, one at a time, stirring after each addition. Add buttermilk and vanilla and stir until mixed. Pour into 9" pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until the pie is golden brown on top.
